Areas of Giving

The following initiatives form the primary avenues for supporting Sterne School.

Annual Giving   Simply put, Annual Giving makes up "the gap" between the price of tuition and the actual cost of educating each student at Sterne each year.   Funds raised through Annual Giving are used for current-year expenses including faculty salaries, classroom programs, and general operations.   The Annual Giving campaign traditionally begins in the Fall and ends on June 30.   We encourage 100% participation in Annual Giving.

Special Events   Sterne hosts two fundraising special events each year: the Walk-a-Thon and the Splash community gala.   In the 2009/2010 school year, the Walk-a-Thon occurred in the Fall and the Splash will take the form of a student art & music "Coffeehouse Showcase" in May.   Both events provide an opportunity for families to get to know one another and join forces in supporting the School.

Capital Giving   Capital Campaigns are extraordinary fundraising initiatives which enable permanent changes to Sterne's facilities or programs.   Past capital campaigns have supported the expansion of Sterne's technology programs or the renovation of the building.   Future capital plans will include an expansion of the current campus.

Corporate Matching Programs   Most large corporations have giving programs that will match employee donations to charitable organizations. Please consider increasing the impact of your personal donation to Sterne by checking with your company today.

Volunteer   Many of our families give their time to Sterne every year, either as members of the parent association or the Board of Directors, drivers on field trips, and more.   As a small community, we are grateful for the many ways in which parents can enhance our course offerings with their own expertise: for example, we welcome parents to participate in the Passages program, or in "in residence" opportunities in sports or in the arts.
